Purpose built in 2005 The Duddon Sands Hostel stands in the grounds of The Ship Inn. It offers low cost, high quality accommodation for people who like to spend their days getting muddy and wet, but still want to be warm, dry and comfortable at night. Being adjacent to one of the best and friendliest of the Lakeland village pubs has obvious advantages when it comes to the evenings and our guests are tired, hungry and thirsty.
With the exception of the beer garden, both the pub and the hostel are entirely no smoking. FACILITIES AND FOOD The Duddon Sands Hostel is adjacent to the pub, and provides 16 beds. A purpose built self catering facility for families, individuals or groups, with good hot showers, a kitchen/diner, a spacious drying room, warm comfortable beds and a large bike storage shed. Beds cost from £13 pp/pn. For hostel guests who want a break from self-catering there are local Indian and Chinese restaurants who will deliver to the pub. For whole-hostel bookings we can help with catering by prior arrangement. The pub is closed on Mon, Tues and Wed except for private parties by prior arrangement. The hostel remains open every day. Access statement available on request. Barbecue Hut !! Upstairs are three bedrooms. Two sleep four people and one sleeps eight, all in solid wood, hand made bunk beds. A travel cot or bed cot-sides are available for little guests. All bedding is provided but you will need to bring your own towels. Outside the bedrooms is a landing/sitting area with views over the estuary through floor to ceiling concertina-opening windows (for the summer evenings). A door leads from the landing into the beer garden of the pub which is equipped with patio heaters, beautiful views and a Wendy House for the little ones. Restrictions Cost |
