Stockdale Farm

 

Stockdale Farm is a Grade II listed barn conversion set in the village of Flookburgh.  It is one of 13 units arranged around an attractive courtyard setting.  It is a two bedroom character home situated on three levels and enjoys extensive views over open countryside towards Humphrey Head and Kirkhead Tower in the distance.  The cottage has been restored to a high standard with all modern facilities but still keeping its full character. 

 

 

There is a south facing private terrace within the rear courtyard with a flower bed. 
Garden furniture is supplied for you to sit in and enjoy the sunshine.

ACCOMMODATION

       

Door opposite parking area to Dining Kitchen with exposed beams to ceiling. It is fully fitted in pine with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle, pine table and chairs. There is a full range of cutlery, crockery, saucepans and glasses. A glass panelled pine door leads through to the Inner Hall with a large under stairs cupboard holding vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board and garden furniture. At the rear of the Inner Hall is a cloakroom area with ample space for hanging outdoor wear and storing shoes and boots.  There is also a washer/dryer, freezer, large airing cupboard and a downstairs toilet.

       

Stairs lead to the first floor where there is a spacious landing leading to the Sitting Room with exposed beams to the ceiling, a limestone fireplace with a Berry Magical Denby coal effect electric fire, wooden mantel piece and marble hearth.  It is fully carpeted, has two seater sofa and three seater futon, which can be used as an extra double bed and colour TV and a video.  There is a large porthole style window with views over Humphrey Head and the coast beyond.

Bathroom half tiled in white and includes a white suite with Mira Excel power shower over the panelled bath with shower screen.  There is an extractor fan, shaver point and light. Stairs lead to the first floor where the fantastic beams are exposed on the landing.

 

Double Bedroom with kingsize bed with storage underneath, built in wardrobes and pine bedside set of three drawers either side with lamps.  Exposed oak beams and a double glazed velux window and small window give this room an excellent open aspect.

Flookburgh is a small coastal village a short distance away from Grange-over-Sands which has a number of tea shops and a lovely new swimming pool. Cartmel home to the racecourse, the beautiful Priory, a number of pubs and restaurants and of course the Village Shop famous for its Sticky Toffee Pudding is also a short distance away.  Flookburgh has two pubs, a village shop, chemist, excellent butchers shop, post office, fish and chip shop and church.  There are two more pubs within ten minutes walking distance at the next village of Cark-in-Cartmel where you will also find the west coast railway station, a further post office and grocery shop.  Holker Hall and Gardens  is just five minutes away.

Flookburgh is an ideal location for exploring The Lakes, and with the Cumbria Coastal Path right on your doorstep, walking, riding, bird watching, skydiving etc. are all readily available. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are only 30 minutes away by car.  Coniston is quieter but with all the facilities for boat hire, steam boat trips and tea shops. Bowness-on-Windermere is much larger and livelier and has the larger cruise boats and a greater number of restaurants and shops.

Kendal has major shops such as Marks and Spencer and many nice restaurants and is only a 20 minute drive away. Ulverston is 15/20 minutes away by car and has Market days Thursday and Saturday.  Here you will find a theatre (Coronation Hall) and many welcoming pubs, cafes and restaurants. Dalton is 20/25 minutes away and has a leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna and gym and is the home of the Wild Animal Park.
